Data Management and Reporting
The data management structure presently in place at OCA has been designed and refined in response to several large-scale multiple task services contracts with the U.S. Army Engineer District, Ft.Worth; the New Mexico Bureau of Land Management; the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District, the New Mexico State Highway and Transportation Department, and private pipeline, powerline and optical fibre cable firms. All of these multi-year contracts have required frequent tasks with very short start-up times, often large field crew sizes, and rapid reporting turnaround times. To deal with these task requirements, OCA has developed a data management structure which emphasizes computerization of field excavation and survey data during the course of fieldwork, preliminary analysis and reporting stages. This structure has resulted in producing comprehensive data compendia which have been used by agencies to obtain compliance to proceed with project actions shortly after fieldwork is completed. Our data management structure also speeds final report production schedules by emphasizing integrated use of survey and excavation databases for analysis, mapping, and graphics.
